Itinerary Planning

6-Day Tour: 3 Nights on Mt. Huangshan—Sunrise, Cloud Seas & Huizhou Culture.

Day 1 | Huangshan City → Yungu Cable Car → Shixin Peak Highlights → Danxia Peak Sunset (Overnight: Xihai Hotel)
Depart from Huangshan City and drive about 1 hour to the Huangshan Scenic Area transfer center. Take the park shuttle to the Yungu Cable Car Station, then ride the cable car up to Bai’e Ridge to begin your Huangshan adventure.

Follow the Shixin Peak route and visit classic sights such as Shixin New Trail, Boy Worshipping Guanyin, Tanhai Pine, Shisun Peak, Shixin Peak, Black Tiger Pine, and Dream Brush Blossoms.

After lunch at Shilin Hotel, continue to Monkey Watching the Sea, Shuguang Pavilion, Great King Pine, and Unity Pine.

In the afternoon, check in at Xihai Hotel and take a short break. Then head to Paiyun Pavilion and wait for sunset at Danxia Peak—golden light washes over the peaks while the sea of clouds rolls in, perfect for photos. Return to the hotel for a buffet dinner.

Walking distance: about 7 km for the day.

Day 2 | West Sea Grand Canyon (North Route) → Hike to the Valley Floor → Xihai Funicular Up → Bright Summit Sunset (Overnight: Baiyun Hotel)
After breakfast, head to one of Huangshan’s absolute highlights: the West Sea Grand Canyon (North Route). Descend along the boardwalk all the way to the canyon floor, hiking for about 3 hours (adjustable based on fitness and photo stops).

Then take the Xihai Funicular up to Baiyun Station and check in at Baiyun Hotel. After a rest, visit scenic viewpoints such as Bright Summit (Guangming Ding), Flying-over Rock (Feilai Stone), and Qunfeng Peak. In the evening, choose a good spot to watch the sunset, then return to the hotel to relax.

Walking distance: about 7 km for the day.

Day 3 | Sunrise at Bright Summit → West Sea Grand Canyon (South Route) → Yuping Scenic Area & the Welcoming Pine (Overnight: Yupinglou Hotel)
In the early morning, you may watch the sunrise at Bright Summit (Guangming Ding), weather permitting. After breakfast, set out to explore a hidden gem of Huangshan—the West Sea Grand Canyon (South Route). Highlights along the way include Baiyun Stream, Buxian Bridge, and Sanxikou.

Afterwards, take the Xihai Funicular again to return (about 4–5 hours in total, adjustable based on fitness and photo stops). Head back to the hotel for a short break and check out, then continue to the front mountain’s Yuping Scenic Area, visiting Aoyu Peak, Yuping Peak, and the iconic Welcoming Pine (Yingkesong).

Check in at Yupinglou Hotel and enjoy an up-close view of Huangshan’s “signature” landmark.

Walking distance: about 12 km for the day.

Day 4 | Challenge Tiandu Peak (Optional) → Descend the Mountain → Hongcun Village (Overnight: Qishu Lake Hotel) → Evening Show “Hongcun Aju”
After breakfast, head to Tiandu Peak, one of Huangshan’s “Three Main Peaks” and famous for its steep, thrilling trails. The route is high and demanding—not recommended for guests with high blood pressure, heart conditions, or a fear of heights. A gentler alternative can be arranged based on your fitness. The round trip takes about 3.5 hours.

Return to the hotel, pack up, then take the cable car down the mountain. After lunch, travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hongcun Village, visiting classic Huizhou-style landmarks such as South Lake, Moon Pond, and Chengzhi Hall.

Check in at the nearby Qishu Lake Hotel. In the evening, enjoy the large-scale outdoor performance “Hongcun Aju.”

Day 5 | Lucun Woodcarving Mansion → Huizhou History & Culture Museum → Evening Stroll on Tunxi Old Street (Overnight: Huangshan City)
After breakfast, travel to Lucun Village to visit the famous Lucun Woodcarving Mansion, admired for its exquisite wooden carvings crafted by ancient artisans—every detail is truly impressive.

Then return to Huangshan City and visit the China Huizhou History & Culture Museum (a National Grade A museum) to gain a deeper understanding of Huizhou’s history, culture, and heritage.

In the evening, enjoy a leisurely walk along Tunxi Old Street, a historic commercial street dating back to the Song Dynasty and often praised as a “living Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival.” You may also taste local Huizhou specialties such as stinky mandarin fish, hairy tofu, and Wucheng dried tofu.

Overnight at Huashan Huiyan Hotel (Tunxi Old Street area).

Day 6 | Explore Huashan Mysterious Grottoes → Huizhou Ancient City → Transfer to Station/Airport
After breakfast, head to the Huashan Mysterious Grottoes, often called the “Ninth Wonder of the World.” Explore this fascinating complex of man-made caves and feel the awe and mystery of this extraordinary site.

Then continue to Huizhou Ancient City to visit key landmarks including China’s only Octagonal Archway, the Huizhou Prefecture Government Office, and Doushan Street, for an immersive look into Huizhou’s traditional city layout and ritual culture.

At the end of the tour, we will arrange a transfer to the high-speed rail station or the airport according to the guests’ schedule.
