On November 24, 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming two guests from Switzerland for a 3-day private tour of Huangshan and Hongcun Village, renowned UNESCO World Heritage sites in eastern China.

Originally, the clients had only planned to visit Shanghai and Beijing, but after browsing our website and seeing the stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Huangshan and Hongcun, they were inspired to extend their trip. Once they learned the high-speed train from Shanghai to Huangshan takes just 2.5 hours, they enthusiastically added Huangshan to their itinerary.

🗺️ Custom Planning with Cultural Insights

Understanding that the clients work in interior architecture, our team crafted a personalized route focusing on Huizhou architecture, history, and local aesthetics. We also advised them to prepare for the colder November temperatures in the mountain area.

An experienced English-speaking guide was arranged to explain the architectural details and cultural significance of the destinations, particularly in Hongcun — known for its horse-head walls, ancient waterways, and Ming-Qing style residences. The clients appreciated this thoughtful focus.

🚗 Day 1: Arrival & Immersive Village Tour

At noon on November 24, our guide and driver picked up the clients from Huangshan North Railway Station. On the way to Hongcun Village, we made a special stop at a traditional wooden covered bridge in Shexian County, showcasing classic Huizhou carpentry.

Upon arriving in Hongcun, the clients enjoyed a fully guided cultural walk, followed by check-in at a local boutique guesthouse. Our guide assisted with the check-in, escorted the clients to their room, and made sure they were comfortable. In the evening, they had dinner at a traditional restaurant and admired the tranquil night view of the village.

⛰️ Day 2: Hiking the Highlights of Yellow Mountain

The next morning, the clients set out early to explore the Xihai Grand Canyon, a part of Yellow Mountain they were especially excited about. Despite light rain, we provided complimentary raincoats, shoe covers, and trekking poles to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Our guide led them through the highlight trails of Huangshan, offering commentary on the unique granite peaks, cloud sea views, and pine trees. After descending, we transferred to Tunxi Old Street, a well-preserved historical market district. The clients were deeply impressed by its charm and heritage. That evening, they stayed at the Huashan Huiyan Hotel, conveniently located near the old town.

🚄 Day 3: Departure with a Smile

On November 26, the clients were scheduled to take the 8:00 AM high-speed train to Beijing. Our driver arrived at 7:00 AM sharp to ensure a smooth and timely transfer to Huangshan North Station.

After completing the tour, the clients expressed great satisfaction with our services, especially the guide’s professionalism, the driver’s punctuality, and the thoughtful trip design. Payment was completed on the final day, and they kindly noted:
